Best said the ratings reflect Frankenmuth Insurance’s balance sheet, categorized at the “strongest” level, with noted conservative practices for loss reserving, moderate investment risk, and a prudent reinsurance program. Additionally, our company was commended for continued surplus growth and effective underwriting that outperforms the commercial casualty composite average. Best noted that our strong agency relationships, diversified products in both Commercial and Personal Lines, and efforts to geographically expand support a solid regional market presence. In the area of enterprise risk management, Frankenmuth Insurance earned praise for a strong cyber security program and enhanced efficiency, effectiveness, and integration of systems through strategic technology initiatives.

The stable outlook for each rating reflects the expectation that Frankenmuth Insurance will maintain its balance sheet assessment, supported by strong risk-adjusted capitalization, and operating performance.

 AM Best has consistently recognized Frankenmuth Insurance as a financially sound insurer with an “A” rating or higher every year for 46 years. These ratings also extend to our property and casualty insurance subsidiaries: Ansur America Insurance Company, ASure Worldwide Insurance Company, Fortuity Insurance Company, and Patriot Insurance Company.

Patriot Life Insurance Company, also a subsidiary of Frankenmuth Insurance, was separately evaluated and received a Financial Strength Rating of “A” (Excellent) and a long-term Issuer Credit Rating of “a.” Both ratings were affirmed with stable outlooks.
