Patriot Insurance Company is pleased to announce Denise Essenberg has been appointed to the Board of Directors and will serve as Chairperson of the Audit Committees for Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company and its subsidiary companies, effective December 21, 2021.

Essenberg retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2019 after 40 years of service. During her tenure, Essenberg helped her clients address and act upon complex business challenges and opportunities, advising clients on acquisitions, pre-and post-transition integration issues, business divestitures, and the adoption of new technologies. She has extensive experience in corporate boardrooms, advising audit committees of public and mutual insurance companies, including Fortune 100 and 500 companies.

Essenberg served in a leadership role at PricewaterhouseCoopers as the Managing Partner of its Grand Rapids, Mich., and Hartford, Conn., offices.

In addition to her service for Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company and its subsidiaries, Essenberg currently serves on the Board of Directors for three other companies. She previously served on boards for chapters of the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and American Red Cross during her career.

Essenberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. She also attended the Kellogg School of Management Women’s Director Development Program at Northwestern University and the board development program from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
